FAQs
Below are frequently asked questions, you may find the answer for yourself.
What's the size and weight?
Zentra is impressively compact at 67mm × 195mm and weighs just 685g, light enough to hold in one hand, small enough to slip into your pack.
Does hot water come into contact with any plastic parts in Zentra?
Yes, hot water contacts some plastic components. Rest assured, all materials, metal and plastic alike, strictly meet U.S. FDA food-safety standards, ensuring zero harmful substances are released, even at high temperatures.
Can this be used on airplane?
No, Zentra cannot be used during flight due to global airline regulations. You can carry the device in your carry-on luggage only.
How many cups of coffee can I get if using cold water?
Zentra heats 50ml of room-temperature water (25°C) to 199.9°F / 93.3°C, giving you up to 6 extractions per charge.
Does it fit with the DG capsule (Dolce Gusto)?
No, Zentra doesn't fit DG capsules, but it's fully compatible with the Original Line.
Does that work with coffee powder or a Nespresso capsule? Or both?
Both. Zentra gives you the freedom to brew with either fresh ground coffee or Nespresso Original pods.
Does it work at 220V or 240V?
Both 220V and 240V work as long as your charging adapter supports it. Just ensure the output voltage is 20V and the output power is ≥30W.
How should I clean the machine?
For daily maintenance, wipe Zentra with a damp cloth to remove dust or dirt.
Disassemble the lower detachable parts. Fill the water tank, then double-click the power button to run water through the interior.
All detachable parts (coffee cup, portafilter, capsule adapter, ground coffee filter basket, and upper lid) can be washed with water.
Please do not use boiling water on the fuselage shell, as it may cause fading.
After the machine finishes extraction, what should I do when it doesn't stop automatically?
Zentra should stop automatically. If it doesn't, simply single-click the button to turn it off manually.
The power light stays red for 2 seconds. Is there any problem?
This indicates low battery. Please fully charge before operating.
After long press to heat, do any lights stay on to indicate it's working?
Yes. After a long press to heat, you'll hear a beep and see the ring glow with an orange breathing effect.
After the water is heated, do you have to pump it to get the coffee out?
No, everything is automatic. Just add your coffee grounds or pods to the basket, screw it on, pour in water and Zentra handles the rest.
What kind of water should I use?
We recommend pure water for extraction. Mineral water may lead to scale buildup over time.
Does Zentra have a power pass-through mode, so when it's on the charger you don't need to unplug it?
Yes, Zentra can be used while plugged in. If the battery is completely drained, we recommend charging for about 20 minutes in a 30W fast-charging environment before use.
How long does it take to heat cold water?
From cold water to perfect brew in just 149 seconds. The advanced PID heating system locks in the ideal 93.3°C / 199.9°F for flawless extraction.
What happens if the power is not enough?
When battery is low, the LED will flash red and you'll hear a single beep. The machine will then stop brewing.
Can this be used to heat milk too?
No. Zentra is designed to heat water only, bringing it to the optimal brewing temperature of 199.9°F / 93.3°C. For best results, always use clean water and let Zentra complete its heating cycle before extraction.
The coffee is very watery while using ground coffee. What are we doing wrong?
A watery result usually signals under-extraction. Common causes include:
- Grind is too coarse
- Too little ground coffee used
- Coffee isn't fresh enough
Try using espresso-fine, freshly roasted grounds in the proper dose, and ensure the filter basket and portafilter are correctly installed.
What grounds do you recommend to get a great cup of espresso?
A grind that's too coarse will cause water to flow through too quickly, resulting in weak body and little crema. Too fine may choke the machine and lead to bitterness.
Recommended ranges:
- Light to medium roast: grind size 1.2–2
- Medium roast: grind size 2
- Medium to dark roast: grind size 2–2.1
Different roast levels, freshness, and bean varieties may require slight adjustments. These ranges are guidelines, always adjust to your coffee's actual condition.
Is this compatible with pods other than Nespresso pods?
Yes. Zentra works with both ground coffee and Original Line capsules (e.g., Nespresso, L'OR, Jacobs, Lavazza, Kimbo, Café Royal, etc.). When using a capsule, insert it into the adapter first, then place the adapter into the portafilter and screw it onto Zentra tightly for proper extraction.
Do you have to put holes in the Nespresso pods?
No. Simply insert each capsule into the adapter manually, this action pierces the bottom of the pod inside the adapter. Easy to use and fully compatible with Nespresso Original Line capsules.
How to tamp ground coffee?
First, remove the dosing funnel from the filter basket. Second, fold the spoon and use it as a tamper to press the ground coffee gently.
